When I grow up - Pussycat Dolls

When I grow up relates to me because it talks about my dream when I was small. When I was about 4 – 5 year-old, I wanted to be famous because I thought when you are famous you can wear beautiful clothes with beautiful jewelry. I also wanted to be famous because I wanted to “drive nice cars” and to “be in movies”. That’s my first reason, my other reason is because my dad is a director, so I thought if I’m a famous person, then I will have a closer relationship to my dad. Also, I wanted to be a celebrity because they have an amazing life.

Mom, it's your birthday - Candace (from Phinease and Ferb)

I chose the song “Mom, it’s your birthday” to dedicate to my mom. My mom is the one who gave me birth, raised me, fed me, taught me things, and she is the one who always help and be there when I needed her. This song is only 1 minute and 9 seconds but I think it’s very touching. I also chose this song because I want my mom to know how much I love her and I want to say thanks to her because of everything.

True friend - Hannah Montana

I chose the song “True friend” because it gave me the same feelings that I have and feel about my relationship with my friends. Since I was little, I have had many true friends, and they are the one who always help and talk to me when I needed them. They always show me what the right things to do and tell me to stay away from the bad things. I’m very happy because I can have friends that understand me and help me on everything.

Firework - Katy Perry

I chose the song “Firework” because it’s a song which tells everyone to be confidence about you and believe in themselves. Sometimes, I think I can’t do something because I thought I did it wrong because I didn’t believe in myself and I’m not confidence, but then, I learned a lesson that if you don’t believe in yourself, then you can’t do anything. So, like Katy Perry, believe in yourselves then you can do everything that you thought it is impossible to do.

Pray - Justin Bieber

I chose the song “Pray” because it told about my feelings toward the poor people who have suffered lots of pain and problems. When I listen to this song, I looked back at my life, and I think I’m very lucky because was born in this family where I can have good education, but there are people, who can’t have good education because they don’t have money. So, I hope that one day, all the famine and pain and all the problems will go away, leaving behind a better life for everyone.

Bye bye - Mariah Carey

Bye bye relates to me because it talks about my feelings when my grandfather died when I was 3 year-old. Even though I only met him when I’m small, but when I think about the time that I’m around him, I miss him really much. I remember when he holding me on Tet holidays, and when he fed me food. I feel really sad because I didn’t respect the time when I’m with him. And, now I believe he is in a better place, watching over me and he knows that he is always in my heart.

Back to December - Taylor Swift

I chose the song “Back to December” because in December of 2009, I made a big mistake. I have a best friend in IPS, the school that I learned before I got in AIS, we were really close, I know her since I was in kindergarten. But then, suddenly in December of 2009, I didn’t go to her birthday party, and she got mad at me. After that, I felt like I’m the worst best friend in the world because I forgot my best friend’s birthday party. She was so mad at me that she didn’t talk to me for about 2 – 3 months, and in that time, the only thing that I knew was to say sorry to her. But then, she forgives me and we become best friends again.

Billionaire - Travie Mccoy feat. Bruno Mars

I decided to include this song in my playlist because I wished that I can be a billionaire. Sometimes, when I think of famous people, I think about their happy lifes. And when I think about their happy lifes, I want my life to be as happy as their lifes are. When I closed my eyes, I can “see my name in shining lights” and I can “buy all of the things I never had”. The first time that I listen to this song, I think it’s really like to my life. So that’s the reason why I chose this song.

Bad day - Daniel Powter

I decided to include this song in my playlist because I have had many bad days before. For example, the day that I got my quarter 1 report card. It is not the worst day of my life, but it was a bad day because I have disappointed my mom and my sister by having a low GPA. I was really sad at that moment, most of the people will listen to happy songs when you sad, because happy songs can cheer you up, but when I’m sad I “sing a sad song just to turn it around”. So, everyone has to have a bad day once in a while, and just try your best to get over that sadness.

I miss you - Miley Cyrus

The song “I miss you” relates to me because my best friend, Catthy, went to America and I want to tell her that I miss her very much. I know Catthy since 5th grade, in AIS, she is my best friend since then. In 6th grade, she had to move to America with her older sister because her family thinks that she will have a better education when she is in America. When she leaved, my eyes were swollen because I was crying too much. I remember the time when we hang out, in Chinese class and especially the time when I was at her house. All I wanted to say is I miss her and she is one of my best friends forever.
